For my monthly residency at Ruf Luv, my work is both a produced piece and a live performance. As shown in the pictures below I am stationed to the side of the stage and projection, drawing imagery in the sand. My performance is live-streamed to my laptop which runs Touch Designer or other pre-recorded videos of liquid light art. The output is then fed into a Roland video mixer where it can also be overlaid or mixed with other streams if I choose along with adding various effects in real time. This setup allows many options and room for experimentation, which I tend to explore on the night.
My setup provides the dancing audience with multiple visual elements: the DJ, myself performing, and the visuals on the screen. For the event, I usually create vibrant, multicoloured, and dynamic moving imagery to match the energetic tone set by the DJs. RufLuv ethos centers on Queer, community-orientated, underground music & art. As a result, I am always developing and evolving my practice, with a focus on colorful, experimental rave-inspired artistic expressions. Some of the videos documented below were captured using my capture card for clear digital records of my art.
